Electric Vespa 125 Rawstyle
The making of
Beschreibung
The first electric Vespa from our workshop, with 125cc approval and a top speed of over 80km/h, is finished:
Based on a Vespa 50N from the seventies in a state of severe need for restoration, we built an electric vehicle that can be registered as a light motorcycle using the electric conversion kit from the manufacturer prosimo.
Apart from the frame, only new parts were used to build the electric Vespa - given the performance, the scooter is equipped with our Superlow fork, BGM Pro Competition shock absorbers and a 4-piston radial brake with Magura HC1 brake pump, the slightly dropped SS90 handlebar underlines the sporty character of the little racer.
Driving impressions of the electric Smallframe Vespa
Upon embarking on the first test ride, the classic two-stroke Vespa rider is initially confused: no kick-starting the engine, no fuel tap to open, no pulling the clutch and engaging a gear – simply switch on the ignition and give it some gas...
...when starting off, the initial irritation gives way to a brief moment of shock, because the small electric Vespa displays an acceleration that one would only expect from two-stroke engines with at least 30 hp - the 4000 watt motor pulls seamlessly and unabated until reaching the top speed of about 85 km/h, and given the high-quality chassis and the high-end disc brake, one secretly wishes for even more top speed.
In daily use, our E-Smallframe also performs admirably: Despite a weight increase of approximately 10 kg compared to the two-stroke original, the Vespa remains incredibly agile and easy to handle. The immense acceleration is matched by more than adequate braking – there's probably no faster vehicle for getting around town. The range with two fully charged batteries is a good 80 kilometers in mixed driving conditions, and still 60-70 kilometers on longer journeys – definitely sufficient for our needs.
The Vespa electric kit from the manufacturer prosimo GmbH
Prosimo has been developing concepts in the field of electric mobility for years. Their in-house developed conversion kit for all classic Vespa Smallframe models to electric drive is now ready for series production and available, including all components and parts required for the conversion and, of course, the necessary certification for legalization. Various options are available for registration as a vehicle up to 50 km/h or as a light motorcycle, as in the case of our electric Vespa.
As an official partner of the manufacturer prosimo, we can now carry out such conversions in various versions and expansion stages - further information is available upon request.
Electric Vespa update with performance battery
We have been successfully testing the new performance battery developed by prosimo GmbH in our e-smallframe for some time now - this version is now ready for series production:
The two small batteries included in the normal 125cc version are replaced by one large battery with a higher overall capacity - the Vespa thus reaches a top speed of 100km/h without a start-up and a range of almost 100 kilometers.
The performance version is now available with TÜV certification.
