Vespa PX Configurator

The Scooter & Service PX Superlow forks are shortened to the correct length in our workshop and TIG-welded in a CNC-machined jig. The technical advantages of a shortened fork are obvious: Due to the lower center of gravity and the longer trail compared to the original steering tube, the Vespa's straight-line stability is significantly improved – the vehicle remains stable even at speeds well above 100 km/h and always feels planted on the road. The front shock absorber responds more sensitively due to the shallower pivot angle.

When selecting the original upper mounting plate for the front shock absorber, we only shorten the fork by 35mm: The PX fender can be mounted in this configuration without modification, the swingarm is angled at the same angle when using a shock absorber with a total length of 195mm as with our CNC adapter - the center of gravity of the Vespa is of course less low in this case.

CNC-machined steel adapter for the upper shock absorber mount on the fork, compatible with all Vespa PX steering tubes - nickel-plated. This component lowers the front of the vehicle by 15mm, resulting in a shallower swingarm angle. The resulting lower center of gravity and noticeably longer trail significantly improve handling stability and straight-line tracking at higher speeds.
NOTES : Suitable for shock absorbers with a spring plate diameter of 35mm (such as BGM Sport, BGM Competition). For use with original PX/T5 fenders, a hole approximately 25mm in diameter must be drilled in the fender above the shock absorber.

The Grimeca NT wheel hub in the "Classic Look" version forms the basis for all our Vespa disc brake systems and is available in either silver-grey or a satin-black powder-coated finish.
The Grimeca NT wheel hub can be used with the appropriate axle mount for both the construction of a 2-piston fixed caliper brake and for the radially bolted 4-piston brake system - all common brake discs for Vespa PX models fit, for the installation of a floating brake disc the wheel hub must be modified in the area of the floater.

The Vespa brake discs we offer fit both original Vespa disc brakes of the newer PX models and Grimeca NT brake systems, and of course in conjunction with a 4-piston radial brake - the performance of the Vespa disc brake can be significantly improved by choosing a high-quality brake disc.
VESPA BRAKE DISC - WAVE
Unlike the original Vespa PX brake disc, the other models listed here feature a so-called wave design:
The wave-shaped contour of these brake discs and the numerous slots allow brake dust and dirt as well as the heat generated during operation to be dissipated much better; unlike the original Vespa brake disc, the wave brake discs do not tend to overheat and warp.
Furthermore, the brake pads wear down much more evenly – while the pads often develop grooves on the outer edges over time when using a standard brake disc, and therefore often no longer make optimal contact during braking, the brake pads with a wave brake disc can generally be used right up to the wear limit with consistent performance.
VESPA BRAKE DISC - FLOATING
The brake discs from Polini and Stage 6 are mounted with spring-loaded floaters, significantly increasing the performance of the Vespa disc brake: These brake discs automatically adjust to a precise angle with each braking action due to the pressure of the brake pistons, resulting in an optimal contact surface between the brake pad and brake disc in every case - the floating mounting also minimizes the susceptibility to overheating and warping, and brake fade in racing or mountain passes is a thing of the past with these Vespa brake discs.
For the use of a floating brake disc, the wheel hub must be slightly milled in the area of the floaters so that the brake disc sits correctly on the centering.

The brake pump from the Italian manufacturer Crimaz is screwed onto the existing threads of the handlebar and uses the original lever mount - no milling work on the handlebar is necessary.
The Crimaz brake pump is characterized by a very good pressure point and not too high actuation forces, and with its 11mm brake piston it works very well with Grimeca-based 2-piston brake calipers.
The thread for the hollow screw is M10x1mm.

10-inch rims with a width of 2.15 inches, suitable for all Vespa models equipped with 10-inch tires as standard - original Piaggio spare part.
Compared to most replica products available on the market, original Vespa rims are distinguished by a higher quality coating and welded bolts in the narrow half of the rim - in replica rims, the bolts are usually only pressed in, and in some cases the pressed-in bolts can come loose or break off.
When installing a new rim, a new inner tube should always be used as well.

Vespa wide tire rim 10 inch, consisting of one wide PX and one wide Cosa rim half.
This rim is used for both the Scooter & Service 3-inch wide tire kit and our 4-inch wide tire kit - the screws and small parts required for mounting the rear wheel are already included in the respective kit.
Assembly instructions:
When using the 3-inch kit, the wider Cosa rim half is mounted on the left in the direction of travel, while with the 4-inch kit it is mounted on the right in the direction of travel.

The Scooter & Service 3-inch wide tire kit allows the mounting of a 110/80-10 rear tire on a Vespa PX 200 engine - using a rim consisting of one wide PX and one wide Cosa rim half results in a total rim width of 3 inches, which corresponds to the standard rim width of a 110/80-10 tire.
This kit is based on a CNC-machined crossbar spacer made of high-strength aluminum and the screws and small parts required to mount the two wide rim halves used - the required rim, tire, etc. can be configured as desired.
Unlike our 4-inch wide tire kit, this solution does not require an elaborately manufactured spacer ring with internal centering between the rim halves - the resulting track offset of 8mm is completely compensated for by the corresponding machining of the engine crossmember, so that the wheel runs exactly in the center.
Assembly:
As with any wide tire kit, the engine should be relocated to compensate for the track offset – for this, the engine mount must be shortened by 8mm on the cylinder side. The included mount spacer is designed for an 8mm offset and is installed between the chassis and engine on the clutch side.
In most cases, the side panel on Vespa PX models fits without problems even with the 8mm offset caused by the wide tire conversion; however, the side panels of some Vespa classic models, such as the VNB and similar, need to be widened to avoid contact with the engine.

The digital Vespa PX speedometers from the manufacturer Sip are available in various versions; here we fundamentally distinguish between the smaller size (PX old) for PX models up to the year of manufacture 1983 and the larger instrument for the subsequently built Vespa PX Lusso models.
All Sip digital speedometers offer various additional functions besides displaying speed and engine speed - we always install these instruments in conjunction with a speedometer sensor, so that the displayed speed can be precisely adjusted.

Vespa Custom Parts
As part of our PX Custom Vespa projects, we naturally use our in-house developments and special parts: from the handcrafted exhaust system to the Superlow chassis concept, our wide tire kits, CNC-machined special parts and the large-volume seat tanks with an 11-liter capacity.
We convert your Vespa PX in our workshop to our Superlow Series Custom Vespa Standard: Optionally in the form of a comprehensive technical upgrade with Superlow chassis, fully hydraulic disc brake, suitable and individually selectable engine setup, adaptation of the ignition and electrics to pure DC operation and renewal of all cables, or as part of a complete rebuild with a paint job of your choice and renewal of all aged components.
The Vespa PX configurator offers extensive options for customizing the project; further options and requests can of course be easily accommodated upon request.
All selectable configurations and setups are based on our own developed and extensively tested engine and chassis concepts and are designed for the best possible rideability in road and touring operation - a large number of our own developments and Vespa Custom Parts are already included in the basic configuration.
The Vespa PX engines selectable in the configurator are built entirely from new parts in our workshop based on a reinforced Malossi engine casing - by arrangement, the use of an existing original engine as a tuning basis is of course also possible.
Upon request and after consultation, we can have technical modifications to Vespa models older than 1989 registered with the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Association).
Please note:
The Vespa PX provided for the conversion must be complete and in a general condition suitable for the conversion - measures beyond the configuration, such as carrying out more extensive sheet metal work or completing an incomplete vehicle, are of course also fully feasible in our workshop, but are not part of the configuration.
