The configurator offers the possibility to individually assemble a complete fully hydraulic Vespa disc brake including all necessary parts and components - optionally based on the Grimeca brake with 2-piston fixed caliper or on a radially mounted 4-piston brake system including suitable axle mount.
While the basic components of the Vespa disc brake are mandatory, the parts required for assembly and completion of the brake system are optional.
Grimeca NT disc brake - 2-piston
The Grimeca NT disc brake with conventional bolted mounting and CNC-machined 2-piston fixed caliper from Sip provides a good basis for an effective fully hydraulic braking system that can adequately decelerate even high-performance vehicles. We recommend a master cylinder with an 11-12mm piston diameter for this disc brake.
radial disc brake - 4-piston
The radially screwed 4-piston disc brake is essentially identical in design and construction to the radial brake we developed in 2007, which is no longer available. The original speedometer drive can still be used; optionally, the offered axle mounts are equipped with a suitable bore for mounting a speedometer sensor for use with digital instruments.
The radial brake still represents the absolute pinnacle of braking performance and gives the Vespa deceleration values on par with modern sports motorcycles.
We recommend a brake pump with a 12-12.7mm (1/2 inch) piston diameter for this disc brake.
Steel braided brake line
The steel braided brake line can be configured to your specifications in our Vespa disc brake configurator, including all necessary components. Based on our experience, the available line lengths cover most configurations – other lengths and colors are available upon request.
Below are a few examples regarding the appropriate length of the brake line; if in doubt, the length must be measured on the respective vehicle.
PX standard fork, Nissin brake master cylinder: hose length without banjo fittings 1340mm
PX standard fork, Magura HC1 brake master cylinder: hose length without banjo fittings 1400mm
PX Superlow fork, Nissin brake master cylinder: hose length without banjo fittings 1290mm
