The current Scooter & Service Demonstrator project: Based on a used Vespa PX body, a custom Vespa conversion in vintage style with many special and new features is being created!
In times of increasingly sophisticated and powerful engine setups, we are currently working on, among other things, improved driving stability at higher speeds: For this reason, our SLS 300 has a wheelbase extended by approximately 75mm, a significantly longer trail angle and a center of gravity that is even lower compared to our Superlow Series models - without extending the frame, which was out of the question for us for stylistic reasons.
The frame was additionally reinforced at crucial points to accommodate the potential of the BFA Motori engine with 306ccm and an expected output of over 45 hp - our project goal is clearly to achieve the best possible rideability of the Vespa in road and everyday use, both in terms of the chassis design and the power delivery of the 306cc engine.
Once the front end is finished with the VNB leg shield and Superlow fork, the next step will be fitting the BFA 306cc engine and appropriately modifying the rear area: We will of course report regularly on the progress of our custom Vespa here.
Update 25.09.2019
Today we took our SLS 300 with the extended wheelbase for its first test ride: In combination with the Stage 6 shock absorbers and the longer trail, the result is a level of driving stability, especially at higher speeds, that was previously unknown in classic Vespa scooters - we are thrilled and look forward to the next test rides!!!
Update 05.12.2019
The Vespa SLS 300 is now registered and is currently undergoing test drives - we hope for good weather to be able to carry out the final adjustments.
Update February 2020
Our custom Vespa SLS 300 is now fully set up and tuned - the chassis with extended wheelbase, Stage 6 shock absorbers and Superlow fork is a new dimension for us, the BFA 306cc engine with noise-dampened Scooter & Service Curley exhaust and 28mm Polini carburetor with frame intake makes the SLS 300 a truly controllable tourer with incredible reserves in every situation.
